Veneers: They can Correct More Smile Flaws Than You Realize
Very few people are born with, nevermind maintain, naturally white, straight teeth. We offer dental veneers for everyone who feels that a few flaws stand in the way of flashing a great smile.
The highly skilled team of dentists and dental experts here at Creative Dimensions in Dentistry offers a wide range of affordable dental services at our family dental office, from teeth whitening to veneers. Our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to smile confidently, and dental veneers can help achieve that goal.
In fact, these cosmetic tools are so versatile that, globally, experts predict that the market size of dental veneers will grow from $1.55 billion in 2021 to $2.30 billion by 2028.
Veneers — the ultimate coverup
Veneers are thin shells that we place over the fronts of your teeth, and they can play several different roles in improving your smile.
Many patients visit our dental clinic to find solutions for badly stained or discolored teeth that resist professional cleaning and/or whitening efforts. In these cases, dental veneers are the perfect option as we can cover up the staining and discoloration with porcelain or composite material shells that mimic the natural coloring of teeth (white, bright teeth, that is).
Aside from whitening and brightening your teeth, dental veneers can cover up numerous other flaws, including:
- Chipped teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Uneven teeth
- Worn teeth
- A twisted or misshapen tooth
With veneers, we can even make small teeth appear a little longer.
Getting your veneers
Getting your veneers is generally a two-step process. During your first visit, we clear away a thin layer of enamel to make room for dental veneers. We then take impressions of your teeth and send this information off to a lab for the custom manufacture of your veneers. Rest assured, we supply instructions for the shape and color of your veneers so that they meet your goals.
When your veneers are ready, you return to our dental clinic, and we bond the veneers into place, making any necessary adjustments to ensure that you leave with teeth you’ll be proud to show off.
Maintaining your veneers
If you take good care of your veneers, they can last up to 10 years or more. This means maintaining good dental hygiene — brushing twice daily, flossing once daily, and rinsing. You should also steer clear of foods and drinks that can stain your veneers (and your teeth), such as artificially colored foods, tea, coffee, and red wine.
Last, protect your veneers by not using your teeth as tools to open packages or chew your nails. Using your teeth for anything other than eating is a surefire way to damage them and your veneers.
If, despite your best efforts, your veneers become damaged, we can easily replace them by following the same steps outlined above.
